The Dr. Garry McKinnon Champion of Children Award was created by the Project H.O.P.E. board in 2003 when long-time Superintendent of Schools Dr. Garry McKinnon retired. It's first presentation was to Dr. McKinnon for his years of service to the Golden Hills School Division and the children of Project H.O.P.E.
